Greater Victoria Information

Greater Victoria, located on the southern tip of Vancouver Island, is Western Canada’s oldest city and the capital of British Columbia. It is made up of 13 distinct municipalities and other unincorporated areas, and each has its own governance and bylaws affecting home buyers and homeowners. These municipalities stretch from the northern tip of the Saanich peninsula through to the West Shore area and Sooke and are grouped into three regions:

  1. The Core (Victoria, Vic West, Oak Bay, Saanich (East and West), Esquimalt)
  2. Peninsula (North Saanich, Sidney, Central Saanich) 
  3. West Shore (Colwood, View Royal, Highlands, Langford, Metchosin, Sooke)
